FALLing into grace

FALLing into grace

BY CATHERINE CHIDIAC

A wind of change is happening in our little , yet powerful Middle East !
Some say it’s for the best, others for the worst,

But, whether we like it or not : two things will ease our transfusion :

1-Positive attitude

2-Adaptation .

1- As we enter the “Middle Eastern” Fall season, our body instinctively rejects  the change: our immunity lowers, allergies start , our mood drops ..

Until, one day, our being starts automatically adapting and accommodating to the new weather, the new change, the new Era. And this settlement happens naturally on its own .

This is where keeping a positive attitude makes it easy.

The less we fight the change, the better we adjust to it .

2- Contradicted by the changes on a physical level , our body becomes tense, our muscles tighten as the temperature drops and our breath shortens .

Our immune system becomes confused and opens our body to flu, allergies and bad mood that follows.

Between this tightness and weakness the body needs to boost and relax at the same time . So combining practices of Yin and Yang is a must .

Yang being any kind of uplifting practice  : like cardio, power Yoga or HIIT, and Yin being a restorative practice, stretching  or simply a meditation  that helps our mind and body  surrender.

Those practices alternated, can be “flowered up “ with a variety of essential oils , to help the body adapt to our little “Middle eastern fall”

Start incorporating in your dispensers or your warm bath : Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Sweet Orange and Cedar wood .

Cinnamon essential oil benefits: Known for its antibacterial properties, cinnamon oil may help strengthen the immune system—a vital support as the colder months approach. Its cozy scent also invokes feelings of warmth and security.

Eucalyptus benefits: Eucalyptus oil is a go-to for respiratory support. As autumn brings sniffles and coughs, this oil may help clear sinuses and ease breathing, promoting a sense of vitality.

Frankincense benefits: Renowned for its calming properties, frankincense aids in reducing stress and anxiety—a perfect antidote to the frenetic energy often accompanying seasonal changes.

Sweet orange benefits: With its cheerful aroma, sweet orange oil brings a burst of positivity. It can help combat seasonal blues and enhance overall mood, promoting feelings of joy and enthusiasm.

Cedarwood  benefits: As the days grow shorter, cedarwood oil provides stability and grounding. Its calming effects may help alleviate stress, promoting a sense of balance during seasonal adjustments.

These Essential oils combined with Yin and Yang practices have magical effects that smoothens us and help us maintain a positive attitude and an open mind .

An adaptation to whatever change or whatever FALL that is !

Taking it into a place of security, a place of grace and a place of happiness …
